Diesel Power: Audi S4 Sedan And Avant Get New 342HP V6 TDI



The Audi S4 is following in the footsteps of the diesel-powered S5, S6 and S7 by getting the same oil burner. Introduced in Europe, both the S4 Sedan and Avant are powered by a 3.0-liter V6 TDI.

The diesel unit delivers 347 PS (342 hp / 255 kW) at 3,850 rpm and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque between 2,500 and 3,100 rpm, aided by an electric-powered compressor for quicker acceleration and a mild hybrid system that improves efficiency.

Audi says the four-door model has a combined fuel consumption of 6.2 l/100 km (45.6 mpg UK / 37.9 mpg US) and 163-161 g/km of CO2 emissions, whereas the estate drinks 6.3 l/100 km (44.8 mpg UK / 37.3 mpg US) on average and has carbon dioxide emissions of 165-164 g/km. The official 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration is 4.8 seconds in the Sedan and 4.9 seconds in the Avant, and top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) in both models.

Visually, the two cars gets a sporty body kit along with S4 badging, quad exhaust pipes incorporated into the rear diffuser and larger wheels. Body hugging sport seats, exclusive trim and other items can be found inside.
