1974 Range Rover Gets A Classy Makeover From Legacy Overland

Legacy Overland’s latest creation is a lovely two-door Range Rover Classic that remains faithful to its roots with some modern touches.

The company has combined the frame from a Suffix B model, the body from an 1983 donor car, the 3.5-liter V8 from a 1983-85MY and a five-speed manual transmission from the late 1980s, bringing Land Rover’s best bits in one package.

In addition there are new disc brakes front and rear accompanied by steel-braided hoses, a 4-inch lift at the rear and a 3-inch lift at the front, 16-inch glossy black wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich A/T tires and a front skid plate.

The classic Range Rover is finished in Ardennes metallic green and comes with a completely redone and hand-crafted interior, featuring beige upholstery and carpets with green piping, a leather steering wheel, a Pioneer Bluetooth audio system, air conditioning and more. LED headlamps and a light bar over the windshield are also part of the build.

The 3.5-liter V8 engine originally made just 130hp, with later versions getting an increase to 3.9 liters in capacity and 182hp. Overland’s build uses a 3.5-liter unit fitted with twin SU carburetors.

The original Range Rover was one of the world’s first luxury SUVs, offering great comfort both on and off the paved road while retaining the classic Land Rover off-road abilities. Legacy Overland’s fully restored example honors the original mission of the classic SUV and is now ready to become an arguably really cool daily driver.
